Clare is a daughter of Aglaea who sought refuge and support in the Hunters of Artemis after trying to take her own life 2 years ago. However, she soon realizes the restrictions it gave her, and has recently left the Hunt in order to explore life, and be someone different from an isolated and self-harming individual. She is a 16-year old young woman of New Zealand descent, and is heterosexual.

Robert ‘Bob’ Pentecost was an aspiring artist, plus he’s handsome. He met Aglaea after work one night, in a night club. Both drunk on wine, beer and vodka, they fell in love and went back to Bob’s home. They had intercourse, and became deeply, deeply in love. Nine months later, Aglaea gave birth to a baby boy. She left with a note that she would be back, but for now, he had to take care of Jay.
Jay was treated well as a baby, Bob loved him as he was the only thing he had left of Aglaea. As Jay was due to start school, Aglaea returned. Bob was delighted, and when Aglaea gave birth to twins, he begged her to stay. However, as she was a goddess, she couldn’t. This time, she told him all about demigods and that. Astonished, he begged Aglaea to stay even more. Sadly, she left, leaving the two twins who he named Macee and Clare.
When Jay was at school, he had the normal schoolhood. He was popular and good at sports, but less could at academic things. Aged seven he was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia.
As he had done with Jay, Bob took good care of the twins during babyhood. When they started school, they were always in their own little world, and were very, very close. Aged eight, they were diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia. They were bullied severely right through primary school. When the twins were eight, Jay was thirteen and was taken to camp by a satyr. Him and the satyr were attacked by a harpy, but the satyr luckily defeated it. He was claimed by Aglaea as soon as her entered the camp boundaries. As the twins and Bob knew nothing about Jay’s disappearance, the girls became depressed, Clare more so. Clare started self-harming, never going outside so she was never attacked, and when the bullying got worse, she tried to commit suicide aged sixteen. Aglaea watched as Clare tried to claim her own life, and asked Artemis to go and offer her a chance to join the hunt. Artemis went and explained to Clare, and she believed her because she looked so serious.
Macee, alone, was found by a satyr and taken to camp. On the way they were attacked by a hellhound and the huntresses saved them. Seeing Clare had joined them meant Macee wanted to, so she took her pledge and was in.
However, months passed and Clare grew bored of the Hunters. She realized that it's not really her thing to hunt all her life and decided to quit. Of course, Artemis despised her but she didn't mind. She went to Camp, got claimed and moved over to Aglaea's Cabin.
